30 years of the Krzyżowa Foundation - integration meeting of co-workers and volunteers of three decades.
Save the Date 18.-19.01.2020

In 2019, the Krzyżowa Foundation celebrates several round anniversaries: 30 years ago, on June 2-4, 1989, the conference "Christian in Society" was held, which was the occasion for the first meeting of an international group of people interested in this place. These circles wanted to protect the Krzyżowa Palace complex from further destruction and to create an international meeting place and a museum of resistance against dictatorships. This initiative led to the establishment of the Foundation, which was notarized in 1990 as the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe.

November 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the historic Reconciliation Mass of 12.11.1989, lead by Bishop Alfons Nossol at the field altar built between the stable and the palace, which was then part of the State Agricultural Farm.

In turn in Berlin, in August, the Kreisau-Initiative association organized a summer reception to celebrate its 30th anniversary. A younger project from the Krzyżowa network - the International Festival of Chamber Music Krzyżowa-Music - celebrates 5 years of its activity this year. On 1 September this year, under the honorary patronage of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Germany, Krzyżowa-Music celebrated the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II with a special concert.

In the meantime, at the International Youth Meeting Center in Krzyżowa, a regular program is being implemented, which includes over 100 meetings, seminars and trainings per year. The Office of Innovation and Development is active in the region, helping local governments to invest in science and the labour market, and the youngest children have fun and learn in the Kindergarten in Krzyżowa. The International Conference Centre "Krzyżowa" also welcomes guests, successfully organizing commercial events, weddings and other family events.

However, there would not be this anniversary, nor would there be so many reasons for joy and pride in the achievements of the Foundation, if it were not for the commitment and work of more than 200 (yes!) people who have been employed by the Foundation over the years and/or co-created the place as volunteers. Some (very) long, others shorter. For some it was the first job in their professional life, for others it was the last one before their retirement.

Krzyżowa is a special place that has witnessed the Great History, but also thousands of exceptional everyday stories, which in the framework of its activity and sometimes life in Krzyżowa we all wrote - people now and in the past working for the Foundation. On the occasion of the jubilee we want to meet in as many people as possible to recall these events, anecdotes and stories, and above all to have a nice time together.

As a group representing the community of former and present co-workers and co-workers, we took the initiative to organize such a meeting and together with the Board of the "Krzyżowa" Foundation we invite you to Krzyżowa!

Due to the fact that this year is rich in so many events in Krzyżowa, we decided to postpone the official meeting to January, as a symbolic inauguration of the next 30 years in the history of the Foundation.

We invite you to Krzyżowa for a weekend from 18 to 19.01.2020. - Detailed program and organizational information will be sent in the near future. For now, please reserve this date in your calendar. We hope that sending the invitation in advance will allow all interested parties to come to Krzyżowa, so that we can fill the Multifunctional Room!

The Foundation organizes several special events in connection with the anniversary. However, we want to have one special meeting as part of the anniversary celebrations, only in our company, even if it happens only at the beginning of the new year! In this way, we will be able to feel like special guests in a place where for years we have been caring for the cordial hospitality of others.
