The international Konrad and Paweł Jarodzki artist-in-residence programme creates conditions for artistic work at the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe. Its goal is to support artistic processes, cooperation and research in dialogue with the Foundation's history, educational and social activities.
As part of the programme, we host four residents selected by the programme's artistic board for a period of six weeks. During their stay in Krzyżowa, they have an opportunity to focus both on their individual and joint work and on interacting with groups participating in the exchanges of the International Youth Meeting Centre.
We dedicate the residency programme to artistic practices that are sensitive to the social and natural environment and committed to working through the past or experimenting with the future. We support a diversity of attitudes, media and artistic practices. We examine how, with the help of art, we can engage in dialogue and make intercultural connections. We operate in an international artistic environment, we are rooted in Central and Eastern Europe, Lower Silesia and in the history of Polish-German dialogue.
In line with the attitudes of the patrons of the residency, Konrad and Paweł Jarodzki, we want to amplify voices that are heard too little, ideas that are just germinating and the freedom of artistic exploration.
The programme`s partner is 66P Subjective Institution of Culture in Wrocław
