Laboratory of Dialogue and Reconciliation

We are pleased to announce that the first meeting of the third edition of the project "Laboratory of dialogue and reconciliation" has just taken place. A project that the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe is implementing in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Poland from 2019.

"Since the first edition of the project, our focus has been to create a space for the presentation and exchange of experiences and ideas among people actively working to promote constructive dialogue based on mutual respect," says Dr Tomasz Skonieczny, project coordinator. "Today, in light of Russia's unprecedented aggression against Ukraine, the crimes committed by Russian soldiers against the civilian population, in view of the devastating changes that two years of pandemonium have caused in our social and economic life, issues such as dialogue and reconciliation must be looked at anew, from a completely different perspective. There is no doubt, however, that dialogue is what we invariably need. Even in the face of legitimate questions about its limits'.

Conversations about dialogue. With notes - edited by Tomasz Skonieczny, published by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, 2021

FROM THE INTRODUCTION

"The publication which is now displayed on your screens is the result of a series of meetings and conversations to which in 2021 we invited people who are professionally involved - from a practical or theoretical point of view - in issues related to what our public life looks like and, consequently, our attitude towards each other. Or, looking at things from a broader perspective, what elements determine what our culture of dialogue looks like.

We invite you to listen to a conversation with Martyna Stec, an educator and trainer in the field of improving social-emotional competences, about the condition of teachers after the period of e-learning and what they can do to - in the face of the next lockdown - take better care of their well-being.

The conversation, prepared in form of a podcast, is a part of a project "Laboratory of Dialogue" carried out by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe together with Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Poland.

Podcasts of the Krzyżowa Foundation can also be listened to on the most popular podcast platforms: anchor.fm, SpotifyGoogle Podcast and  Breaker.

We invite you to watch the video recording of the debate "The world with (no) borders", which took place on 20 November.

The participants attempted to answer the question about the limits of progress and development of the modern world, and discussed how our reality may change after the crises we face today.

In the debate participated:

  • Edgardo Colón-Emeric - professor, academic lecturer, theologian, Dean of Duke Divinity School at Duke University (USA)
  • Leszek Gaś - Director of the European Parliament Office in Wrocław
  • Joachim Klose - national representative and head of the Political Education Forum of Saxony at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation
  • The meeting was moderated by Prof. Wojciech Szczerba (rector of the Evangelical School of Theology).
