Prof. Waldemar Czachur Ph.D. works at the Institute of German Studies of the Warsaw University and his field of interest is research on discourse analysis, including the analysis of memory discourses and the role of collective memory in Polish-German relations. He is the curator of the exhibition in Krzyżowa "Courage and reconciliation". He came to Krzyżowa for the first time in 1998 to take part in an international seminar for students from Central and Eastern Europe organised by Mit Ost e.V.

Since 2007 he has been engaged as a volunteer in the activities of the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe. He is also the author of the book “Kreisau|Krzyżowa. 1945 - 1989 – 2019”. Since 2017, he has been the chairman of the Foundation's Council.
