As in Krzyżowa, there is also a cross of nails in Würzburg, actually even three of them are hosted in this german city. One of them is a "moving cross", which has been brought to another place every year since 2001, moving always on the day of the destruction of Würzburg during the Second World War. The hosting place can thereby be a parish, an institution or a quarter, so the cross was already in a correctional facility, is now with the catholic association Kolping and will be handed overt to the Chamber of Crafts on Saturday 16 March.

On the same day this year the St. Johannis Church in the immediate vicinity of the Chamber of Crafts is declared a memorial against war and violence. On this occasion the presidents of the chambers of crafts of Danzig and Calvados, Wiesław Szajda and Jean-Marie Bernard were invited to Würzburg.

Together with these, the regional bishop Gisela Bornowski and the mayor of Würzburg Christian Schuchardt, Dominik Kretschmann as representative of the international community of the cross of nails and head of the memorial of Krzyżowa Foundation will discuss about Europe as peace project.
