Stories that Move

In January 2021, the Krzyżowa Foundation in cooperation with six organisations from the Netherlands, Spain, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany and Austria launched the Stories that Move project.

Stories that Move is an online platform with a set of interactive tools for education against discrimination, in the form of multilingual hybrid learning materials (www.storiesthatmove.org), which were launched in June 2018. Nine project partners from seven European countries were involved in the development and creation of the Stories that Move platform (2015-18) and continue to work on disseminating the tool in formal and non-formal education. Almost 4,000 teachers from across Europe have registered on the website to work with the online tool in their classrooms.

The Anne Frank House in cooperation with the Krzyżowa Foundation invites you to a webinar on counteracting homophobia among students using the Stories that Move educational tool. It will take place on 20th May 2021, from 17.00 - 18.15 in English. Entries are made via the form: https://bit.ly/3vQZCHo.

During the webinar, we will introduce the online learning tool and show you how to use moving stories from Stories that Move. They are interesting material to be used in classes with students on prejudice and discrimination. Using the stories of the young people, the trainers will introduce several ways to discuss these complex and delicate topics in the classroom.

Discussing Diversity and Discrimination – Using the Online Tool 'Stories that Move'

Want to improve your skills in inclusive pedagogy and help your students respond to discriminatory behaviour towards ethnic, religious, sexual minorities (LGTB+) and racism? Learn how to create a 'safe space' in which to talk to your students about sensitive and complex topics in an open exchange of ideas, engaging students and encouraging critical thinking.

The online course Talking about Diversity and Discrimination - using the online tool 'Stories that Move' - which starts on Monday 19 April - will develop your skills as an inclusive educator who is able to discuss sensitive and complex topics with your students. After going through the four modules, you will be able to plan your own lesson plan to implement in your classroom.
