The Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe in cooperation with the Czech organisation Post Bellum, thanks to the support of the Polish-Czech Forum and the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, took part in the production of a documentary film "Invaders despite their will. Poland's involvement in the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia". The documentary will be presented in two Czech and two Polish cities. The next screening will take place on 20 August in Liberec, and the next one in Prague - on 9 September. In Poland the screenings will take place in Wrocław and Bolesławiec.

The film 'Invaders Despite Their Will. Poland's involvement in the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia" is based on interviews with witnesses of the time: Polish soldiers who took part in the Warsaw Pact intervention in Czechoslovakia in August 1968, and Czechs who watched their dreams of building socialism with a human face collapse. It tells the story of how Poles perceived their participation in the military intervention and the reactions of Czechs.

The documentary was made as part of the project "Together across the borders of totalitarian systems" (Společně mezi hranicemi totalitních system), the aim of which is to present the reaction with which the military suppression of the Prague Spring by Warsaw Pact troops in August 1968 was met in Czechoslovakia and Poland.
