A beautiful sunny week is behind us and we are thinking about it intensely especially today when the weather made an April Fool's joke and covered Krzyżowa with snow. But just a few days ago our younger guests from Ukraine were enjoying the beautiful weather relaxing on deckchairs, playing football and running around the neighbourhood.

We are very happy that all pupils and students are very enthusiastic about going to Polish schools. And now we can confirm with great joy that we also have a comprehensive educational offer for the youngest children.

This week we managed to complete all the procedures and from Monday, children from Ukraine will join our kindergarten, " Green Land ". All the youngest, who with their parents escaped the war to the municipality of Świdnica, will be able to stay under the care of the nursery school staff during the opening hours. Another piece of great news is that two ladies who came to us from Ukraine and now live in Krzyżowa will be employed as teaching assistants. Thanks to that, children will feel more comfortable being able to communicate in their own language.

We continue to organise a series of sports and artistic activities for children and young people from Ukraine, with the help of volunteers. Sports classes in particular are very popular. Misha, who conducts them, emphasises that he can see how the participants find self-confidence in themselves. Some - perhaps for the first time in a long time. "I can see the huge progress my trainees are making. At the beginning they didn't want to play at all. Now they can't be dragged off the pitch after two hours. When we started, their mums used to encourage them to at least throw a ball into the basket. Now you can always hear: Mum, one more minute!".

We invariably support our guests from Ukraine with all the formalities and supply them with the most necessary items. We would like to thank everyone who helps us - donors, sponsors, institutions, our partners, organisations from Poland, Germany and other countries.

Your support is greatly needed by our guests in this difficult situation. And we, thanks to your generosity, can provide safety and shelter to families fleeing the war.

We would like to remind you that together with our partners from Germany: Kreisau-Initiative e. V. and Freya von Moltke Foundation for Krzyżowa - as well as the team of International Chamber Music Festival Krzyżowa-Music, we are collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees in Krzyżowa. We kindly ask for your support.
