The week before Easter was very intensive for our guests from Ukraine. Last Friday, children and their parents took part in a concert "Children to Children", organized by Świdnica's Youth Culture Centre. On Saturday, there was an Easter fair in nearby Pszenno, during which we presented baked goods and Easter decorations prepared by Ukrainian ladies living in Krzyżowa. On Wednesday, children and their mothers took part in a trip to Wrocław ZOO. There was a lot going on and we will tell you more about these events in the next reports. All these attractions were a great joy for the youngest and a break from everyday worries for the adults.

There are still almost 100 people staying in our centre. Many of the formalities related to the stay of refugees in Poland have already been completed, but we continue to support new families coming to us in official matters. We continue our educational programme and afternoon activities for children and young people who attend schools and kindergartens during the day. We organise all the necessary equipment for the families staying with us and help them to become self-sufficient. We know how difficult this time is for all those who find themselves in our centre.

The Easter holidays are approaching. It is a particularly difficult time for the families staying with us. Some of our guests celebrate Easter on the same date as we do, some a week later. However, we met together on Holy Thursday to wish each other well, to pass on words of encouragement and - most delightfully for the younger participants - to give sweet gifts to the children. We all felt that the most important wishes that can be made on this Easter, symbolising the victory of good over evil, are wishes for peace and safety.

Recently, we have been experiencing a great deal of support from various institutions, companies, organisations and individuals who dedicate their time and resources to support the families currently staying at our Foundation's centre. We report on these important activities, for which we are very grateful, in separate posts. But also here we would like to thank all our donors once again. Your help is extremely valuable and very important for people who are in need of shelter from war.

We want to help refugees from Ukraine for as long as it is necessary. The needs are very large, so we are constantly asking for your support.

We would like to remind you that together with our partners from Germany: Kreisau-Initiative e. V. and Freya von Moltke Foundation for Krzyżowa - as well as the team of International Chamber Music Festival Krzyżowa-Music, we are collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees in Krzyżowa. We kindly ask for your support.
