Spring work in our ecological garden is underway. And young people play an important role in this work - among others, pupils from the Primary School in Grodziszcze, who take part in workshops as part of the project "Food - from tradition to modernity". Planting plants, tidying up beds and doing a lot of other gardening work is an important part of learning about nature. And as you can see, learning by doing is what the pupils like best.

There was always something wrong lately - either too cold, or too wet, or too windy, etc. We waited a long time, looking for the sun and friendly temperatures, which came on 10 February at the end. On that day, beyond all divisions, as part of the employee campaign, we started the 2022 garden season.
The main task was to prepare the greenhouse for the first crops - the substrate inside was covered with compost and wood chips, we also tidied up the area around the greenhouse. As part of the accompanying works, we tidied up the old foundation's composter, the existence of which probably only a few knew so far, and we carried out liming the area for the orchard.

At the beginning of 2021, in the face of the ongoing pandemic, the activities of the Third Age Voluntary Service in Krzyzowa were questionable. As it turned out that the applicable safety restrictions and considerations did not interfere with the implementation of a number of activities. Our Seniors regularly took part in intergenerational garden workshops, during which, together with young people from the Primary School in Grodziszcze, they learned about the issues of ecological food production and shared their experience. Each month, Third Age Volunteers also participated in working meetings to evaluate and plan current tasks. They also helped in the construction of a garden in Krzyzowa.
Snow has fallen. But even with a layer of fluffy snow, it can be seen with the naked eye that in recent weeks work on the construction of our garden behind the moat has advanced. Two structures, which have been created and have already reached their final height, are called "two towers" - these are two stone, self-fertilizing keyhole-type beds, the heart of which will be built-in small composters. One can only guess how well-nourished the vegetables grown in them will be and how it will soon affect their taste.
Before the first snows and frosts, a greenhouse was also assembled, which had been patiently waiting for this moment for several months in one of the foundation's storage rooms. We conducted a test which showed that it is already warmer inside the greenhouse than outside. This bodes well for the production of the first seedlings in early spring.
